Have you ever heard the saying “When man plans, God laughs?” – This statement is the theme of Ri’chard’s chilling film, Hallowed Be Thy Name. Devin’s life is unfolding quickly before his eyes. Following his parents’ nasty divorced, the 17-year-old boy is uprooted from Chicago and hauled to his mother’s rural hometown. While battling discomfort and dissatisfaction in his new situation, Devin crosses paths with two local teens, Mick and Skylar. Curiosity links the three young people together and takes them on an unforgettable adventure. Together, the teens toss caution into the wind and venture into a forsaken cave that is thought to be haunted by most folks in the town. This nail-biting story provides twists that test the fate of several people who find themselves faced with gruesome consequences from decisions they made. Can Devin, Mick, and Skylar amend their decisions, or will the outcome be far too detrimental to repair?
In the film, Ri’chard creatively blends cinematic suspense with urban legends and old-school American terror to create an impressive next-level supernatural thriller that explores the oppositional forces of Nature versus The Encroachment of Man. Hallowed Be Thy Name is the macabre brainchild of Atlanta-based Film Director, Taylor Ri’chard.
During the making of the film, Ri’chard cleverly utilized locations in and around Georgia in addition to a crew and ensemble of dedicated locals well acquainted with the haunted history of the South. By merging the horror genre with authentic local folklore, Ri’chard updates the southern gothic ghost story by exploiting a history that is too chillingly real to deny.
